At CO2 AI, excellence and impact are at the core of our values and in 2024, we led with these as our north star. This was a big year for us and as we move into 2025, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on our journey this year.
Successfully managing as much CO2e as the sixth-largest country in the world
Today, we’re managing over 720 million tons of CO2e—equivalent to the emissions of the world’s sixth-largest country! This is a major achievement and also a major responsibility. Businesses play a critical role in tackling the global climate crisis and bold action can lead to measurable impact. As our customers push boundaries, we’re proud to be their partner in driving real change, scaling solutions, and turning sustainability goals into tangible results.
Serving as the long-term sustainability partner of the largest corporations in the world
We aggressively accelerated our customer traction this year and proudly became the trusted, long-term partner to 400+ global corporations on their sustainability transformation journey. It is proof that the value we offer and our mission of decarbonization is resonating deeply within the industries we serve. We are proudly serving customers across Europe and North America and we continue to grow every day.
Our customers are our biggest advocates
Our customers are already acting on decarbonization. Here are several notable ways that may inspire you in driving sustainable transformation:
- Reckitt: Leveraging CO2 AI's proprietary AI solution for accurate footprinting across 25,000 products to cut Scope 3 emissions by 50% by 2030 (vs 2015 base year) and achieve Net Zero by 2040.
- Symrise: Measuring product-level emissions at scale, from 10,000 raw materials to 90 production sites, following leading standards for full traceability and strengthening trust with customers.
- Sysco: With 98% of its carbon footprint in Scope 3, Sysco aims for suppliers representing 67% of these emissions to set science-based targets by 2026—relying on accurate data and empowering operational teams to engage suppliers.
We continue scale new heights with our product innovation
In 2024, we continued to invest in our product, developing new capabilities by leveraging AI. Here are some of the highlights of what you can achieve with our robust solution.
1. Structure high-quality, automated sustainability data in one source of truth with AI
Centralize your data and get actionable carbon footprints in under 10 weeks. CO2 AI's proprietary AI solution analyzes millions of business activities, selecting the most accurate emission factors for precise corporate and product-level emissions tracking.
2. Drive sustainability transformation across your organization
Cascade targets and embark your organization toward Net Zero. Customers have successfully onboarded 1,500+ of buyers and other operational teams into CO2 AI to actively design and implement thousands of reduction initiatives.
3. Activate your supply chain to effectively reduce Scope 3
CO2 AI’s Product Ecosystem was integrated into CDP’s 2024 Disclosure Cycle to boost supplier data collection. Use these additional data points to benchmark suppliers in CO2 AI and segment engagement strategies for quicker results.
4. Disclose emissions data and progress with full confidence
CO2 AI ensures compliance with CSRD, CBAM, SEC, and more. Our new product footprinting capabilities compute product-level emissions at scale using industry standards (e.g., PACT, TfS, PEF) to foster stronger customer relationships.
5. Empower R&D teams with PEF insights
Leverage CO2 AI to compute 1000s of product footprints and enable R&D teams to design eco-friendly products. Visualize emissions hotspots, simulate material and process changes, and optimize product footprints in alignment with global sustainability standards like PEF, driving impactful environmental progress.
Our leadership shaped critical industry conversations at flagship sustainability events
In 2024, our CEO, Charlotte Degot, brought her 15+ years of sustainability expertise to several influential industry panels. She contributed to impactful discussions on AI in sustainability, Scope 3 emissions, and supplier engagement.
- Panels: Charlotte spoke on critical topics like SBTI target setting, AI technology, and Scope 3 reduction at renowned events, including ChangeNOW, Climate Week NYC, Smart Impact, and Mondial de l’Auto.
- Sustainability Leaders Connect: In 2024, we launched a monthly virtual gathering for top sustainability leaders from global corporations, to come together and share their challenges, successes and ideas for the future. The initiative, with topics ranging from product-level emissions to supplier engagement, was a huge success and we are thrilled to make it a monthly recurring forum.Reply here if you'd like to join!
- Events: Throughout the year, we hosted webinars with our key industry partners on pressing topics like AI in sustainability, product footprinting. setting SBTI targets, and more. We organized breakfasts, cocktail hours, and CSO dinners across Europe and America. If you'd like to be part of these events, please reach out to our team.
We organized webinars, created expert guides and shared resources that you found helpful
This year, we continued empowering and educating our community with the knowledge and tools needed to tackle complex topics like Scope 3 decarbonization and Supplier Engagement. We organized engaging webinars featuring industry leaders like Oliver Hurrey (Founder - Scope 3 Peer Group), David Croft (Global Head of Sustainability - Reckitt), Henry Fauvargue (VP Sustainability - Sysco) and many more.
We launched our annual carbon survey with BCG, which polled executives from nearly 2,000 companies around the world in 2024 that are, collectively, responsible for about 45% of global greenhouse-gas (GHG) emissions. The survey investigated the progress that companies have made on emissions measurement and reduction—and shed light on the actions they can take to decelerate climate change.
We launched our expert guide on product footprinting, which is a critical need in calculating Scope 3 Emissions. You can read our guide to learn how to scale across 1,000s of products in days, not months. With expert advice from WBCSD, Quantis, and Boston Consulting Group.
Thank you for being a part of our journey
